The EURAMED rocc-n-roll consortium is made up of a multidisciplinary team of twenty-nine partners from leading research institutions from seventeen European countries. Find out more about our partners by clicking on the countries on the map and the partner logos on the right.
The European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research (EIBIR) was established in 2006 as a non‐profit organisation dedicated to coordinating biomedical imaging research in Europe. EIBIR is a multidisciplinary organisation providing support services to researchers in the field of biomedical imaging, such as proposal preparation, project coordination and management of international research projects and clinical studies. EIBIR has its head office in Vienna, at the headquarters of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), EIBIR’s main shareholder.
EIBIR is ideally placed to disseminate project results to relevant stakeholders in the field of biomedical imaging and has done so successfully in several FP7 and Horizon 2020 projects. EIBIR currently has a network of 70 member institutions from 22 countries across Europe. It includes clinical and basic science departments as well as biomedical imaging industry. EIBIR’s mission is to strengthen biomedical imaging research by supporting research networking activities, common initiatives, and interoperability in the field of biomedical imaging research.
EIBIR acts as Project Coordinator and WP1 lead. As such, EIBIR is tasked with the project coordination, governance, and management. Additionally, EIBIR coordinates the project’s dissemination and communication activities in close collaboration with all partners.
The European Alliance for Medical Radiation Protection Research (EURAMED) was established by five medical associations involved in the application of ionising radiation in medicine, namely the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM), the European Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics (EFOMP), the European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS), the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) with the goal of jointly improving medical care and its medical radiation protection issues through sustainable research efforts. Since October 1st, 2017 EURAMED is a non-profit organisation registered in Austria.
EURAMED complements existing established European platforms in several other fields of radiation protection and will thus create visibility for the medical field in this context.
EURAMED’s overall vision is to lead the European research activities in medical radiation protection and to assume an umbrella function for the harmonisation of practice to advance the European radiation protection safety culture in medicine. Specifically, EURAMED’s mission is
This is achieved by promoting research and teaching and by publication of scientific and professional information, especially a strategic research agenda in the field of medical radiation protection research, thereby increasing the science base in medical radiation protection. EURAMED pursues its purpose by co-operating with relevant national, European and international scientific organisations active in its field of interest and in particular, with national and international bodies promoting the interests related to medical radiation protection and medical radiation protection research as well as with patient organisations and the public at large.
EURAMED will participate in the following Work Packages and Tasks:
In addition, EURAMED will handle the organisation of panel and workshop meetings and reimbursement of external experts at these meetings.
This project has received funding from the Euratom research and training programme 2019-2020 under grant agreement No 899995.
