European University Cyprus has its roots in Cyprus College, which was founded in 1961. Today EUC is a modern university, operating five schools, namely, the Medical School, the School of Humanities, Social and Education Sciences, the School of Business Administration, the School of Sciences, and the School of Law. The University hosts a diverse and dynamic research community with experienced researchers, including Nobel Laureates Professor Robert Huber (Chemistry, 1988) and Professor Ada Yonath (Chemistry, 2009). European University Cyprus is actively engaged with local, regional and global partners to promote opportunities for long-term strategic research.
The EUC, with its intense international profile, including rich and active European and international connections in terms of research and teaching is an ideal host for the proposed task. With English as its official language it is a great option to host a European project task of the consortium type.
The EUC leads Task 3.2 in WP3, which analyses the needs of research in radiation application and corresponding protection in neurovascular diseases by identifying gaps and possibilities. The different scenarios will include the full spectrum of minimally invasive treatment of Neuroendovascular diseases by endovascular means under X-Ray guidance, with the use of Digital Subtraction Angiographic angio-suites and the relevant DSA follow-ups. EUC also participates in Task 3.4 Identifying radiation application and radiation protection needs and opportunities in other relevant clinical scenarios, Task 3.5 Addressing common interests and identifying synergies, and Task 3.6 The patient perspective on radiation-based health care and the RP research: needs and opportunities.
This project has received funding from the Euratom research and training programme 2019-2020 under grant agreement No 899995.
